The Yurt

The Yurt is our latest addition to the facilities at Finkley Down Farm Nursery located directly on the premise of Finkley Down Farm. Built all with natural wood, the Yurt brings the outside inside in this characteristic space. With exclusive access for just the nursery children, the Yurt has been purposely designed to provide rich, hands-on learning experiences both indoors with a cosy and calming inside space, as well as having its own large garden area right next to the goat pen!

The inside of the Yurt is filled with the children’s favourite continuous provision, arts and craft resources, games, puzzles, stories and much more! With its own toilets and small kitchen facilities, it has everything the children need for their regular visits! As part of your child’s weekly routine, they will get to visit the Yurt with their key worker for small, focused group times, as well as having a unique experience in a different environment. The garden area provides opportunities for the children to get messy in the mud kitchen, role play in a Wendy house, work together to build dens and listen to the sounds in the environment around them.
